It is rather galling to be receiving leaflets from the Liberal Democrats promising "Service and action all year round" from the candidates who have been parachuted into the area. Two of them were only selected to represent Chapel End Ward four weeks ago, replacing 3 currently elected Liberal Democrats, including my dad, who has been a councillor there for twenty years.

The continued public civil war amongst the Walthamstow Liberal Democrats has made watching the party's national surge of support a bittersweet experience...

...especially when working at a newspaper that came out and endorsed the party at the weekend. The leader proclaiming that The Guardian would vote Liberal Democrat has so far attracted over 2,000 comments online...
