Someone has measured the sentiment in the 500 or so comments on this blog post at 93% negative. Of course, still a drop in the ocean compared to the millions of users who I'd wager haven't even noticed the change...

Even though it was a PR stunt, a month on and 104 year old Ivy is still actively using Twitter - she's even introduced her friend Mabel to the service as well

"The report into the future of broadcasting and communications by Communications Minister Lord Carter is likely to recommend that some of the BBC's annual revenue should be used to fund regional news services on ITV and broadband for all". Interestingly, if you are ideologically opposed, as many are, to the idea of an effectively state sponsored news service, how does having two of them make things better?

"Newsquest plans to close the printing plant for the Brighton Argus, with 53 jobs under threat. The regional newspaper company told staff today that it wants to move printing of the paper from Brighton to Southampton, 55 miles away". That sounds like a shame, I was very impressed with the Argus when I was down in Brighton recently
