Great example of the use of combiner tags in our URL structure - /culture/cheryl-cole+football/ashley-cole gives the user the intersection of stories about both, and us a very quick SEO friendly landing page.

"Melanie Phillips, calling it ‘an abuse of democracy’ but stopping short of reproducing the ‘importing voters’ lunacy, manages to imply that the British press is somehow colluding with the nefarious plot because: 'Other than in the Daily Mail, I cannot find any reference to this anywhere else. I wonder why'. This is despite coverage in the Sun and Express, and a front page headline in the Telegraph a day before her blog post. How anyone could imagine that the British press is anything other than vehemently anti-immigration is staggering."

"The number of applications available for User Experience professionals is ever-expanding; much of this growth happening over the last year! As a consequence, experts are increasingly turning to novel tools in order to collect data and generate reports regards their websites. While some UX designers suggest that local testing is the best way to gather data, we decided to round up these up-and-coming applications and see just what makes them tick."

'When people partake in this kind of ambush behavior, it hurts American athletes,' says Lisa Baird, chief marketing officer of the U.S. Olympic Committee. What terrible crime can she be talking about? Rushing around athletes and putting them off just as they are about to compete? Hanging around outside their hotels keeping them awake? No. She's talking about American companies WHO ARE NOT OFFICIAL SPONSORS OF THE GAMES tweeting supportive messages about the USA Olympic team on their corporate Twitter accounts...the rotters!

"How should Canadian journalists cover the Vancouver Olympics? The answer is easy: They should adopt a critical, independent attitude that views the event impartially from a variety of perspectives. Rather than carry a torch for the Olympics, Canadian journalists should carry a torch for journalism ethics."

Busy day, today. I've spent the morning here...
-
...then I'll be here for London IA in the Pub...
-
...and then I'll be watching my Inter against the Russian Squillionaire XI
And you'll be able to picture my smiling face if the Russion Squillonaire XI score... :)
Am I the only one who finds it somewhat ironic that the tabloid Cheryl/Ashley Cole story should be filed under 'culture' on the Grauniad site?
I'm not sure about ironic, but it's little confusing. Should these mashed up pages have a place in the Guardian's IA like that? Maybe just a line of copy would help ("All stories that involve Both AC and CC"). But I found the combo of the breadcrumb trail and the heading a bit confusing (plus if you click on the BCT, you can't get back to the mashed up page, so it doesn't really live there at all does it ...?)
