The actual question may have become passe to ask in about 2003 - the definitive answer is 'sometimes' and I'll hear no more on the subject - but boy, there are some humdingers in the comment thread worth looking at here.

Note to subs: with The Guardian and The Telegraph in situ, we can now start referring to "The Euston Road" rather than "Fleet Street" as a shorthand for 'digital media businesses that used to be exclusively newspapers' ;-)

"Regional publisher Northcliffe Media has begun the roll-out of a new system of linking to related stories in its online articles. Called 'topic pages' the initiative has been launched on thisisbristol.co.uk and will be rolled out across the rest of the thisis network of newspaper companion sites over the next few weeks."
