D'oh the humanity! The BBC Internet blog references my post about the BBC and external links...and originally omits to include a link to currybetdotnet ;-)

"Matthew Johnston has a flickrset up of comparisons between Liberty City landmarks and those of its inspiration, New York". I so wanted to do something similar when I was in Miami, but I didn't have the time - or the local knowledge.

A dull mobile phone behemoth bursts Kim's interweb balloon - the rotters.

Yay! I will actually be in London that weekend - so see you there...

"You can’t be interested in someone who won’t tell you anything. Being good at sharing is not the same as talking and talking and talking. It means you share your ideas, you let people play with them". [via mathewingram.com]

"Nick Carr is a clearly a smart guy. But for whatever reason, he would rather use his skills to try and defend silly arguments that appear to be contrary just for the sake of being contrary. He’s like a troll that writes really well". Ouch.

The Nick Carr article in question. Probably an interesting read, but I only skimmed it, didn't really take anything in, and then I looked at some pictures of funny catz on teh interwebz instead.

Mick's Car..... hmmmmm..... no catz...... FAIL!
I think what Nick and his literary friends are discovering is that having kids makes you stupid (and are displacing this guilt/shame onto Google).
I used to love to read but 3 kids later (with countless hours lost to bangs, scrapes, fevers, nightmares, homework, birthday parties, etc., etc.) and finding enough quality time to devote to the luxurious pleasure of uninterrupted concentration on a book's premise is simply beyond me.
I hold it as a sweet reward to be granted back to me at some time in the future - but for now other priorities take precedent.
Nick's just having one of his grumpy old man moments.
