I'm sometimes astonished that what was the whole original point of a 'weblog' all those years ago - a reverse chronological list of links to cool stuff on t'web - is now being recycled as search engine marketing advice...

Cites an interesting example from Amazon of them owning #1 on Google for a forthcoming book, simply by having the name of the book and the author as a 'related search' link, and getting that indexed.

A good point here that ISPs can't have it both ways, but iPlayer traffic is easily identifiable. It's a lot harder to tell whether I am using P2P to distribute free software, my own recordings, or a new album, which is what the BPI wants ISPs to do.
