Suggests that if you take all of the professional SEO back-biting out of it, the service is quite good for web n00bs. Not convinced myself, or by Wikia for that matter.

Example; "It's a Pligg site for Zambia. You might think that's pretty small, but it only takes 2 votes to get to the top page. It's PR 4". OMG, Social bookmarking in Zambia just got totally pwned by SEO.
-
"I've found that it is much better for your 'PageRank flow' to build connections and generously and openly link out than to try to control it by nofollowing your external links".
-
I've been having a play around with StumbleUpon as my recent del.icio.us tips post and Buffy post got some traffic. The best point in this open letter is about getting the system to scale well.

My new local for three weeks - in fact I'm posting these bookmarks from some open wifi you can pick up there on my wife's new ASUS EEE ;-)
Actually we are *hoping* that the guys in Zambia don't get crushed by a buncha yahoos. But there are hundreds of live general purpose pligg sites who'd love to have some of the content that goes up on digg only to disappear from sight.

It looks like a genuinely useful list actually, but I just can't help thinking some of the smaller sites will be seeing a surge in articles that are only just relevant for their niche...
