More Ashes On The BBC Homepage
by Martin Belam, 14 September 2005
Yesterday the BBC Homepage continued with our experimental coverage of the Ashes - this time not for the match, but for the victory parade through London. Using our "Big Yellow Button" - named after the BBC Sport branding - from 11am we had an updating feed of the sports news straight from the BBC Sport site in the main promo area. That meant we got a constant stream of updating photographs during the day.

Prior to that the 'Jumbo Promo' was updated to carry details of the coverage of the Ashes parade - which was unscheduled, and naturally generated complaints that the BBC One schedule had been interrupted.

Eyedropper has also written about his work on the homepage about the Ashes, which as ever is well worth reading.
